I can't wait to tell you how good life is! You might think that's a little strange, because not too long ago there wasn't a great deal of hope for me. You see, I was a stray and was hit by a car. The kind folks who found me rushed me to the vet. There, the vet discovered that the only way to save my life was to amputate my leg.
I've completely healed and have adjusted very well! My foster brother and I wrestle and play hard and neither of us notice that I'm missing a limb! I'm learning new skills in foster care, such as how to climb stairs. I am a 1.5 year old male yellow Lab mix. I'm a beautiful boy who is good with other dogs, cats and kids. I'm housetrained and a real sweetie!

Aren't we beautiful? We came from a pretty awful place. We were confiscated by the authorities because our original owner locked us and our parents in a shed and left us to die. We were four weeks old at the time. We spent a few weeks in a wonderful foster home and since joining RROC we're living with another great family! We're very well-socialized. We are great with kids, used to big dogs, and fine with kitties.
We're 8 week old Lab mix puppies. We look pretty much purebred but the group was told that our beautiful mama is not purebred. We just know that people seem to like our looks. They love how well-socialized we are. We are wonderful with children, fine with other dogs, and love kitties!

MiamiAge: 9 yrs Sex: M I'm Miami! I'm just a love. I love everyone and fit in well wherever I go. I somehow have a little middle age spread going on but we can go for nice walks to take care of that. Car rides? I'm up for those! Snuggling in the evenings? I was built to do just that. I'm a chocolate Lab with maybe a touch of Chessie in me. I'm an average-sized purebred black Lab boy. I know basic commands and am learning to walk better on a leash. I even know some fun tricks! I get along well with other dogs, do fine with cats, and adore kids! I'm great in the car and love to go for rides. I'm housetrained and crate trained, too. I love to please my people. HelenaAge: 9 yrs Sex: F What to say, what to say. With a dog like me, there are so many options! I was found as a stray and nobody understands why my people didn't do everything possible to find such an incredible girl! I'm so happy to be in foster care. I love other dogs and vary my play style to adjust to each one. I'm housetrained and know basic commands. I'm happy to be with my people. I'm energetic when I need to be but certainly not hyper. I can sail through the air if there's incentive like a car ride, so don't think age has slowed me down much. I never stop grinning because life is so good again! Chili BootsAge: 11 yrs Sex: M WELL, HOWDY! WHAT? I'm screaming? Sorry. I'm a little deaf so I guess I didn't realize. I'm Chili Boots, and a finer senior citizen I dare you to try to locate. I don't think you can tell that by looking at me that I am a senior. I'm still a fine figure of a dog. I love other dogs and am a little too curious about cats. I have a lot of love to give and I am good on a leash. Although I love children, I should probably go to a home where there are no kids because I just can't see or hear them coming and don't like surprises as much as I did when I was younger. I already know how to sit and I am a true golden as I give "paw" but only when I am wanting your attention! How did a gorgeous purebred Golden Retriever like me end up in rescue? It's a sorry state of affairs, but my previous owner had too many dogs so he chose to give up the oldest one in the group. I find that confusing but won't let it bother me as long as I get some attention, a soft bed, and some special treats!

Aramis ~ NEW BIO UPDATE!Age: 2.5 years Sex: M Hey, there! I'm Aramis and I'm just a very happy fellow! There's so much fun to be had. I'm so great with other dogs and would happily spend all day playing with another playful dog. I'm great with kids, too, but I have to admit that I sometimes don't know which toys are theirs and which are mine. Cats? Probably the less we say about those things the better so I really shouldn't go to a home with felines.

RugerAge: 5 yrs Sex: M Ready to play? I may be 5 years old, but that just makes me in the prime of my life. I'm a purebred chocolate Lab, one of the tall beautiful ones you see from time to time. Blackberry~ Check out my photo gallery!Age: 7 yrs Sex: F I'm Blackberry! My original owner had too many animals, so he dumped me at a shelter! There were so many black dogs there that none of us dogs over four years old make it to the adoption floor. However, some volunteers there fell instantly in love with me and contacted rescue. I'm about 7 years old but I'm a very young seven! I am most likely a Lab/Golden cross and people comment on my natural beauty but I don't let that go to my head. I truly love attention and aim to please. Of course I'm housetrained! I am fine with other dogs and great with kids but I find cats just a little too enticing. I'm a happy girl with so much to offer!

CowboyAge: 1 yr Sex: M Yee haw! My name's Cowboy and I'm a black lab mixed boy. My foster family just adores me and says I get along just great with the other dogs around the "ranch". I don't mind cats and just as sweet as can be. My foster parents are convinced that yesterday was the first time I actually swam in water and guess what? I loved it! Don't go away because there will be more soon here on my bio! Cowboy was treated poorly by his previous owner. He was hit by his owner's motorcycle and because of the damage to the bike, the owner planned to end Cowboy's life. RROC stepped in and took Cowboy out of that horrible situation. Despite the way he was treated, Cowboy has proven to an absolute joy. He was diagnosed with epilepsy which is completely managed by medication. We believe this came as a result of his treatment from his previous owner. He will also need surgery to repair a back foot/leg that was injured by the motorcycle. We are currently accepting donations for Cowboy's medical needs so he can live pain free and also accepting applications for adopters to live the rest of his life in a wonderful home surrounded by people who care about him. TitusAge: 18 months Sex: M Hi, my name is Titus and, as I have been told, am a very cute Black Lab/ Golden Retriever boy. I was a stray and had some scary times before I came into rescue in CO. I am still a little unsure at first about new things but once I feel comfortable, I am a happy, energetic boy. I like to play with other dogs and try to get cats to play too. I really like toys that I can chew on but so far have not chewed on other stuff in the house. I am house-trained, am good when left loose in the house and like to use the dog door. I hope that there is a kind person out there that will be patient with me so that I can learn lots of new stuff and we can enjoy the fun things in life together!

EbonyAge: 2-3 yrs Sex: F Wow, is Colorado a great place for a dog! I'm Ebony. I was found lost and scared in a park with another dog. RROC agreed to take both of us. When I went to the vet, they discovered that I was heartworm positive. Everyone thought that was the end for me but RROC had me treated and I'm just fine now! I was a little nervous when I met the dogs in my foster home because they were so happy and enthusiastic. I just didn't know dogs could be so carefree. I've learned from them how much fun it is to be a dog. I'm now playing with other dogs and having a good time! Before I arrived here, I was around a lot of cats and I just ignored them. I love all people. I'm just a sweet young girl with so much potential. Black dogs like me get overlooked every day but I know there is that special person out there who knows that I am an amazing dog. Is that you?
