To my brother Aspen, I am finally going home. Rest in Peace. | Kora
Well RROC, it's Kora here, the purebred Chesapeake Bay Retriever gal. If everyone remembers correctly, I came to RROC in 2007 with my brother Aspen. He was a good looking yellow lab guy who found his forever home with an an owner in the mountains. As a 9 year old who was surrendered along with my brother, you can imagine how tough it was for me. I lost my family and brother in one shot. RROC gave me a second chance. Four months after my brother was adopted he passed away, but he was happy in his final days and for that I am glad. At the time I was still waiting for my forever home and while I am a great dog, it was hard for people to see passed my age to give me a second chance. My chance came today, August 15, 2008. My new home was found and I am finally ready to settle down. I want to thank my foster mom for sticking with me and for my new family taking me to events while I was with RROC and showing me off. I guess it was meant to be afterall. Thank you for believing in me and giving me a second chance. To all my friends at RROC who are still waiting for your home...you have been taken in by a great organization and they will not give up on you. Your time will come. This is Kora, the purebred senior Chessie, signing off and going home. |
