Home Visit Volunteers are special because they are the first link to helping RROC meet an applicant face to face. This is one of the most rewarding parts of rescue and you can be a part of it right now! Each of our applicants go through a phone interview and then a home visit to ensure each of our dogs are going to the ideal home.
Once a Phone Interview has been completed the applicant is passed on to the Home Visit Coordinator. All Home Visit volunteers receive an email with the addresses of the applicants that need to be visited. Volunteers “claim” any address that is in their area if they have the time to do the visit within the coming days. The volunteer will review the home, yard and fence to make sure the environment is safe for a dog. They will also discuss the breed, gender, age, and details of the dog the adopters are looking for. Following the visit the volunteer will send a summary to the Home Visit Coordinator so the adopters can be moved along to the matchers.
All home visit training can be provided in groups or in your home. This is a great way to meet our applicants face to face and to assist RROC in determining the possibility of one of our dogs finding a new home.
