Bridget

We are loving life with Bridget-- we changed her name to Jojo. She has been a great addition to the family. One of the most amazing things has been how she has helped my son with his fear of dogs. You would never know he had been seriously afraid of them! We're working hard on obedience training. She's a fast learner and everyday the leash walking gets better. She just fit in so well with our family and is the perfect dog for us.

The only real concern has been her fear of certain men, but with the help of some confident and patient men we are working on that too. The tail amputation doesn't seem to have bothered her in the least. The hair is growing back and the stitches are out. She spends most of her days napping near us or running around after balls in the backyard. She is a super smart, patient and playful dog. My children aren't the only ones who are totally smitten with her. We couldn't be happier with her and are really thankful for all the work you all do at the Rescue! Thanks so much! June 6, 2006

Sadie

This little Lab mix is a sweetheart who managed to steal everyone's hearts immediately. Her adoptive mother, Gloria, fell for Sadie right off, just as expected. Sadie now has a huge Golden brother named Gus, and two kitty siblings who were a little less excited about the presence of a puppy in the house than were the other family members! Sadie tried her best to share herself by excavating part of Gloria's yard her first day in her new home, thus almost earning a return to Julie and Dave! However, Gloria really wants to make this work.

Sadie's charm is not restricted to humans. While Gloria was away for a brief time, Sadie went outside via the doggie door and somehow enticed the rescued Golden from the adjacent, lower yard to climb up the fence, go over it, and play with her! When Gloria returned, there were the two girls having a blast outside with Gus just rolling his eyes at them! Sadie went to her forever home June 6, 2006.

Sam

Sam has not only gone to a wonderful home, but he convinced his adoptive mother to become a volunteer for us! Please welcome Julie S. as one of us! Sam will have a great life with Julie! June 6, 2006

Caramel

This adorable little girl went to her new home over the weekend. Her new family includes two teenage girls. They both have freckles, so she fits right in! She was adopted on the older girl's birthday, which also happens to be the parents' anniversary! They loved how calm she is and thought she was just the cutest thing. That showed me that they were completely rational in every way! It's a very good thing that she was adopted into such a great home as I adored her completely! Caramel went home June 19, 2006.

Bess

Bess has found a perfect home! The family was so excited to meet her that every one of them got down on the floor to greet her! She was in heaven! There's another dog in the house who is bonded to just one of the adults, so the rest of the family was feeling left out. They wanted a dog on whom they could lavish attention. Bess happily jumped right into that role and found her permanent home June 22, 2006.

Max

Max has found his family! After coming from the collector who kept him in a pen in a barn, with little attention and unpredictable feedings, Max came to us. We vetted him, neutered him, and worked on the basics of indoor living. A great family was looking for a nice pup and fell for Max immediately! He'll have the attention he craves, obedience training, plenty of toys, and no lack of meals! Thanks, everyone, who helped make this possible! I found my forever home June 22, 2006.

Tag

Tag has found her permanent home! She is living with the most wonderful young couple and their adorable toddler, Alexander! Tag is very good with Alexander, letting him take the ball from her mouth. He "throws" it for her and she has a blast chasing it and bringing it back to him. I received an update on how she is doing already. Tag, who is likely to be renamed Aura, has made herself at home on their bed! Alexander calls her "his" dog and follows her around on all fours with his rear end up in the air! He imitates everything she does. What a heavenly home for this pretty girl! Tag found her new home June 22, 2006.

Butterscotch

Butterscotch left just a few hours ago to go to her new home! She now has a 9 year old boy who is intent on making her life as happy as possible! Butterscotch turned on the charm when she met them, following the little boy everywhere and wagging her short tail as hard as she could. He told his parents, "I think she likes me!" in an awestruck voice. Very cute. They're working on a good name for her and are thrilled to get her! June 25, 2006 was the official date Butterscotch went to her new home.

Charlie

Charlie is a very sweet eight year old lab mix. He does great with dogs and cats. Charlie thrives on attention and was adopted to his new family on June 25, 2006 .

Lucy

Lucy was our heartworm positive girl. She was dumped by her family because of this condition. The vet thought she was a spectacular dog and gave us the biggest break possible on the cost of the treatment. Lee stepped in and offered to foster this beautiful and sweet girl. Lucy is one of the calmest Labs around. She's now found her permanent, loving home June 25, 2006! This is just what rescue is all about!
