Murphy

Ok, ok, I know what you're thinking, I'm so adorable and how did you miss me? Well, as soon as I came into RROC I was adopted by an amazing family on May 24, 2007.

I was a 10 week old lab black lab mix who came from Kansas and boy, am I glad RROC saved me. My new family and I are getting along great. Check out what they had to say about me. Murphy's family writes:

I can't believe we have only had him a week. He is such a big
part of our family. When Murphy lays with Missy on the couch, it's hard to tell where 1 dog starts and the other stops! It so fun to watch them together. Not only did Murphy find a forever home, he also found a best friend for life. Thanks again for our amazing boy! He and Missy have had sooo much fun together, chasing and playing with each other. I'm not sure who is happier, Missy or Murphy. We have been to Petsmart, met all the neighbors and been walking the neighborhood.

He is such an AMAZING dog. I can't begin to tell you how much we love having him. Please let us know when you are looking for puppy volunteers, the kids can't wait. Thank you again for the work you do, you have brought us so much joy!

Bond

Bond was a 3 month old purebred black lab boy who found his new home in May 8, 2007.

UPDATE FROM BOND'S FAMILY:

Jaz (aka bond) is doing awesome! He is such a good boy, as indicated by the Foster Mom. I think he has doubled in size since we got him. We have a 5 and 3 yr old daughter and he is so gentle and sweet. We are getting the potty training stuff pretty good. (maybe it’s us that are getting trained) He listens so well for a little guy.

We put him in a crate over night and he does just fine. Does not even cry until he needs to potty. I find him wondering in there during the day at times for a little break. We start puppy classes tomorrow morning at the Humane Society.

We have mentioned RROC to so many people. We hope that you see endless new and wonderful families to love all the doggies. We will update you w/ photos as he grows. Feel free to use them however you wish.

Submitted via Tato's Adoptive Family:

I wanted to give you an update on Tato (originally BD) and express how thankful we are to have him in our life. Ever since we adopted him in May of this year, I can honestly say there is not a day we don't say "could you imagine if we didn't have him?"

I would really like to thank Wendy and her family for being such a great foster family to our big loving companion as she could not have been better to him or for us to work with. Thanks again Wendy!

She knows the following story, but I would like to let others know as I have had time to reflect on this truly successful story.

Simon

Simon was a four month old black lab/golden mix who found his new home in May 5, 2007. Simon was rescued from a shelter in Nebraska who were considering him "unadoptable" due to his black color stating that they are harder to place.

Simon was a lover right from the start with a face that could melt your heart. We were sad to see Simon go but overjoyed that he was able to get the second chance he truly deserves.

UPDATE FROM SIMON'S FAMILY:

Here are a couple of pictures of Simon. He is a really happy dog. We didn't change his name because my son (4 years old) wouldn't hear of it. He didn't want to take Simon from his foster mom at first because she would be sad, but I explained and then he was ok. The first night we got home with Simon my son slept next to him on the floor.

Simon really likes to be outside with us, and in the house he and our cat play constantly. He likes to steal almost anything, especially shoes, but is very gentle and doesn't chew them. Every day we check his pile of stolen things and put them back where they belong.

We are very very happy with Simon and are so glad that RROC helped us find him!

Taggert

Tubbs was a 5 month old purebred yellow lab who found his new home in May 8, 2007.

UPDATE FROM TAGGERTS FAMILY:

Tubbs, now known as Taggert. I have to tell you, we fell absolutely in love with Taggert as soon as he entered our home. It was as if it was meant to be. We have an older yellow lab, Chipper. The two of them hit it off as soon as Taggert came in the door. They are very similar in color and personality. The biggest difference is that Taggert has proven to be more of a chewer than Chipper. But that's okay, we have plenty of rawhides and chew toys. We just have to make sure he isn't left unattended for too long or he will find trouble! Luckily, he is easily distracted and his attention diverted to the proper toys to chew on. Taggert has adjusted well and made himself at home! He is just as spoiled as Chipper. They both love the bed and the couch and will try to cuddle as much as possible if allowed.

As a typical puppy, Taggert can be stubborn at times as well. We are working on training. When he came to our home, we were told he wasn't very comfortable on a leash. Within a couple of walks, he adjusted very well to a leash and can actually be "off leash" and will usually return upon voice command. Though this is only done in a controlled environment at all times. He goes to the dog park and to doggy daycare with his buddy Chipper as well. He is always well behaved and very rarely jumps on people. We have been complimented at doggy daycare just how well Taggert behaves for such a young dog. I credit that to the wonderful foster home he was in before coming to our home.

Our family thanks you and your rescue operation for the opportunity to be able to adopt a dog as wonderful as Taggert. He has brought lots of love and excitement into our lives in the short time he has been a part of our family. I am sure that he will bring just as much in the future.

"Harmony and Us"
Retriever Rescue did such a great job helping us find our new dog. Harmony plays with me and my mom, she licks like there's no tomorrow, and loves walks. We could not have asked for a better dog. She even gets along with our cat. The funniest thing she does she grins and shows you all her teeth when she's happy.
