Retriever Rescue of Colorado

Murphy's New Family

RROC would like to take this opportunity to introduce our dog lovers to an amazing family! The forever home of one of our RROC dogs, Murphy, formerly known as Mike, was found in June 2007.

Murphy, a 10-month old black lab mixed puppy from Kansas was days away from being euthanized due to being rendered unadoptable as a black colored dog. In rescue, the overwhelming statistics on the number of animals put to sleep for a small physical flaw or in this case, color, is alarming. RROC's intake coordinator refused to let this little guy down. The long journey from Kansas ended in Colorado where he was in foster care for a few days.

Murphy's forever family is one of a kind and as a result, RROC would like to feature this success story in the name of all of those animals who were not able to make the journey with Murphy.

One of RROC's greatest rewards within the organization is not only saving, but changing lives. We love to hear your stories and would like to highlight Murphy's amazing family. A special thanks goes out to RROC's Biggest Fans, Vicki, Mark, Michael, Matthew, Mitchell, Madison, Missy and Murphy Magoon for working with RROC to create this mini movie. Please read, enjoy and hug your animals extra hard today.
