Sex: MWell, I'll be! You're looking at my bio and my new photo? What luck for me! I love meeting new people and this just might be the way for us to meet. You want to know a little about me? I'm a yellow Lab, as you can plainly see. I might be a little slower than some of my fellow Labs. The vets think that when I was younger, I got my paw caught in one of those terrible traps and lost it. I get around just fine and you might not even notice that I'm missing that paw at the end of my leg! Like a lot of dogs in our later years, I tend to do better on carpet than on slick surfaces, especially on long flights of stairs. Otherwise, I like to go for short walks during which I can make new friends. I like to play with other dogs who recognize that I am not a youngster any more. I probably shouldn't admit this but I am not fond of cats. I am housetrained and of course I don't chew on anything inappropriate. I'm considered a senior because I'm somewhere in the eight to ten year range. My foster family describes me as being just about perfect but I don't let that go to my head. I'm Yogi and I have quite a story. When my original owner became discouraged with me because she hadn't trained me at all, she dumped me at her father's farm. He put me into a root cellar and there I spent the next six years. I was 18 months old at the time. I'm about 8 years old now and am doing a lot of catching up on all of those lost years, when I could look out but not participate in anything. I get along with other dogs and love people. I don't really know what cats are so I couldn't tell you how I do with them. I absolutely love water so would love to end up where I get access to a wading pool! I also enjoy retrieving, but since I'm a purebred chocolate Lab, I guess that is no surprise! My foster family is very impressed with me. I love it here but am hoping to find my own home very soon. I'm technically a senior so I qualify for July's senior dog discount. I'm worth every penny of the regular adoption fee, but you can always use that discount to buy extra toys and treats, right? My foster mom says I'm probably the smartest foster dog she's ever had in her home (and I'm told that's quite a few!) I will let you know when I need to go outside, and I will bring you the ball when I want to play. I am friendly, active, alert and focused. Mom thinks I will be fun to train for obedience, agility or most anything else. I go into my crate without coaxing at night to sleep, because I know it's my safe place. But, I do expect my nightly treat in return. I only want to please my people, I love kids, and I will shower you with kisses! I hope you don't mind because I want to let you know how much I love you. While I currently live in a home with other dogs and get along just fine, I would love to be your only canine companion so I can soak up all the attention! I probably should go to a home without cats, since I like to chase the small animals in my yard. If you are a runner or hiker and want a companion to come with you, I'm your gal. After our adventures, we can hang out at home, where I can be fairly mellow. I'm housebroken, crate trained and don't chew on anything I'm not supposed to. I have seizures sometimes, you see, and that can frighten little children. | |  | DOVE ~ I HAVE A NEW BIO! Age: 4 years Sex: FMy name is Dove, named after a very tasty chocolate. That means I'm sweet, you see. When I first came into rescue, I was a bit of a mess. I'd been living on my own for a while. When I was a very young puppy, I took up residence in the barn and my people pretty much ignored me. I had litter after litter and they made money by selling all my pups but really didn't do anything to care for me. They never even replaced my collar so it embedded into my neck as I grew up. At long last, I was captured and I was terrified to end up at the shelter. The folks there were nice but I just hadn't been living inside or with people so I was just about catatonic. That didn't make me adoptable and they were thinking that I didn't have much of a future. Then a rescuer took an interest in me and contacted RROC. I went to a foster home very experienced in working with scared dogs. Those people at the shelter wouldn't recognize me at all now! I'm a regular dog! I should know, since I have been living with a lot of other dogs and we compare notes! I leap around in joy when my person comes home from work! I get excited about meal times and treat times! If you didn't know about my past, you wouldn't guess what a tough time I had. That's all behind me now. I'm a smallish Golden Retriever girl who just wants to have fun now. I'm about 4 years old and I just love not having to worry about having more litters any more. Because I've come so far in a short period of time, the rescue thinks I should be placed with another dog who can show me the ropes in my new home. I'm housetrained and crate trained and am looking forward to this whole concept of a loving home of my own. The rescue thinks I would be best without little kids just because I am a little more timid. I'll probably be a little shy at first but I warm up quickly. After all, I am a Golden.

Well hello there, I'm quite pleased to meet you. My name is Babbs. I am a black lab mix girl. RROC is guessing that I'm about 4-5 years old, but you know a true lady never reveals her age. I am quite petite at 33 pounds. I think I offer the best of both worlds really -- I have a retriever temperament, but guess what - I'm small enough that if you wanted to hold me in your lap it would be totally fine (and I would LOVE it). I am also a very nicely behaved young lady - I stay off the furniture, I certainly don't try to steal food off the counters, I don't chew things up, I don't really bark much at all.
I love to ride in the car, I'm already pretty good on a leash and getting better every day. I'm starting to learn some commands. The training seems to be helping me gain more confidence, so it would be nice if my forever home felt comfortable teaching me even more new things.
My foster mom told RROC that I'm just a sweet pea -- I think it's pretty great to find out that people are so wonderful. I was pretty afraid when I got to RROC, and loud, sudden noises still scare me some, but I'm coming into my own more every single day and I am so thankful that I got this chance to find out how great it is to be loved. I've started wagging my tail when I nap, so my foster mom knows that I'm relaxing and having sweet dreams.
I was actually missing for over a month and RROC never gave up on me. i came back to my foster family and now I am looking for my new home. Obviously I am very smart and quite resourceful to survive during such a harsh winter full of snow in Boulder, CO! Please ask about me! |

I have mastered my basic commands like sit and lay down. I am crate trained and I get along well with the senior fosters in my house and have no problems. I absolutely love toys and meal time! My favorite toys at my foster house are the rope toys and the stuffed ducks! I made the long journey from Kansas where I was hours away from being put down before RROC stepped in and saved me. I have a second chance now and am making great strides in only a week! I can play with the best of them and have energy, but when I am in the house I calm down right away.
