September 2006

Bigboy

My name is Big Boy and I am a Golden Retriever/Lab mix. I found my new home on September 2, 2006.

Bode

My name is Bode and I am a 2 year old Golden Retriever/Lab mix. I found my new home in September 2, 2006.

Aspen

My name is Aspen and I am a 2 year old male yellow lab who found my new home in September 5, 2006.

Bianca

My name is Bianca and I am a 5 year old female black lab who found my new home in September 5, 2006. My new family writes: Bianca is now Bama (short for my home state), and she's doing fantastically well in her new home. She has 2 feline friends, one of whom she sleeps with every night. Yes, the bed gets full with all of us in it! Because of her separation anxiety, she goes to doggie daycare every day while I'm at work.

She has developed her own pack there with two young male retriever mixes named Reggie and Noah. They play all day, and by the time Bama gets home, she's ready to chill for the rest of the evening. I feel so lucky to have found her, and I will be forever indebted to RROC! Thank you for placing her with me!!

Bosco

Bosco is a Lab or Lab mix boy who found his new home in September 5, 2006. Wow, did Bosco find a great place! His new mom manages an organic farm and he can go to work with her and expend energy running around all day while she works! She has lots of dog owning friends and they plan to keep him very busy.

She writes: First, I did change his name. It is now Duke (because he is so beautiful and we decided looks like royalty!). He is doing wonderfully!! I can't believe how amazing he is! He is sweet and caring. He's a big cuddler, and constantly just wants to be beside me or my roommate. He has never had an accident in the house and is by far one of the smartest dogs I've ever known (especially to only be 10 months!). He is healthy and happy, and we are thrilled by the joy he's brought to our home!

Cooper

My name is Cooper and I am a six month old male Golden Retriever mix who found my new home in September 5, 2006. My new family writes: Cooper is doing great! He has adjusted to our home and continues to be a happy-go-lucky guy! Right now he's playing with a new squeaky ball and enjoying every minute. We started obedience classes and he just wants to please everyone.

He's going to be a perfect student. He loves to play with Kira (my older mixed dog) and when she tires out he easily entertains himself. We've gone on a quite few hikes already in the woods and he was able to play in the snow that we had a couple of weeks ago. He loved every minute of it and loves to run as fast as he can! But he's also a good listener and comes flying back when he's called. I couldn't be more pleased with him. He's also gone to work with me and everyone in the office adored him.

Jessie

Jessie is a 7 month old Lab mix girl who found her new home almost as soon as she got into rescue! Jessie went home officially on September 5, 2006.

Kaylee

My name is Kaylee and I am a 5 month old black lab mix who found my new home in September 5, 2006. My new family writes: We are doing very well with Kaylee. We did change her name to Casey. I'm currently taking her to training classes at Petsmart and it seems to be helping with a lot of things.

She's really smart and catches on really quickly. She is really good with our 2 young kids, she's never been aggressive towards them. She's very lovable and just wants attention. She really loves the outdoors too. We are very happy about our adoption of Casey. We are glad that she will be with us for a long time.

Valley

My name is Valley. I'm an 8 month old Lab mix girl who found my new home in September 5, 2006.

Dora

My name is Eldora, or Dora for short, and I am a 3 month old female black lab mix puppy. I found my new home in September 7, 2006 and my new family writes: We have changed her name to Zoey.

She is doing very well and we are all very happy that we adopted her. She has grown quite a bit over the last four weeks and is clearly very smart. We are almost over the hump on the potty training, although she has accidents when she gets excited. She has picked up a few tricks and is eager to learn.

Zach

My name is Zach. I'm a 4 month old chocolate Lab mix who found my new home in September 10, 2006.

Tina

Tina is a Lab mix puppy who found her new home in September 15, 2006. Her foster family writes: Maddie (aka Tina) is doing great! She has adjusted beautifully to our family and we're all very attached to her. My 3 kids just adore her. We started puppy training classes a few days after we got her to get off to a good start.

She's not as timid/shy as when we first saw her, probably because she really feels like she belongs with us now and knows she's here to stay. She has grown a lot in the last 3 weeks. She's up to 32.5 pounds and has gotten bigger and taller. She looks healthy. Her coat is shiny and, although she has gained approximately 6-7 pounds in about 3 weeks, she still looks lean and beautiful. Thank you to everyone at RROC who devotes so much time, energy and money to making these dogs' dreams come true.

Breck

Breck was a female black lab mix puppy who found my new home in September 17, 2006 her new family writes: Yeah Breck is still her name and she is doing great!!! I love her to death she almost totally potty trained and has a rare accident if she cant wake me up at night which is my fault. She is just amazing and she is getting big. She also knows how to sit very well and she almost has stay and lay down also. She is very intellegent!

Kelly

My name is Kelly and I am a 2 year old neutered male yellow lab. I found my new home on September 17, 2006 .

Polly

My name is Polly. I'm a sweet and pretty one year old Lab mix girl who found my new home in September 17, 2006. My new family writes: Ember (formerly Polly) is doing WONDERFULLY! She is such a joy to have in our household.

She is fantastic with the kids and loves our other dog, Quincy. She is clearly new to the world of cats, but is learning how to live peacefully with them and resist the urge to chase! Really, she has fit in so well, and after a summer of fostering it has just been so nice to know I can finally get attached and know we don't have to give her up someday. We already love her so much and are so happy she came to us!

Toni

My name is Toni. I'm an active 4 month old Lab mix girl who found my new home in September 17, 2006.

Afton

My name is Afton and I am 2 year old spayed female Lab who was adopted by her foster parent in September 22, 2006. I was their first foster dog. They didn't think I was what they were looking for in a permanent family member, but I had other ideas from the start! When they were sick, they really got to see me in action as I was such a comfort they couldn't let me go!

Ms. Happy

Ms. Happy was a Lab mix girl who found my new home in September 28, 2006. Her new mom writes: We did rename Ms. Happy, her name is Fenway. She is doing fantastic. My daughters have really taken to her, and Fenway seems at ease with the chaos that a family of four young girls brings. It really does seem like she has been with us for ages, she has just fit right in. Thanks again for the work your organization does. With four kids under 5, we really wanted to get the right fit with our new dog and we wanted to give a home to a dog that might not otherwise have one.
